Privacy
Your data, your call.
Last updated 2026-04-30. Plain-language summary; the lawyer-reviewed version comes before general availability.
What we collect
- Profile data — display name, graduation year, optional academic info (GPA, SAT, ACT, intended major), bio, and any link-in-bio URLs you choose to add.
- Interest signals — schools you save from the discovery graph.
- Account data — email, hashed password, and (for minors) parental consent status from Didit.
What we do not collect
- Family financial data never leaves your browser. The debt simulator runs entirely client-side.
- No tracking cookies. No third-party ad networks. No surveillance for advertising.
Who can see your profile
- Youalways control what’s public via the visibility toggles on your profile editor.
- Anyone with your link can see the public view at
campulse.ai/profile/[your-url]. - Subscribed collegescan browse consented student profiles for their admissions work. We log every view, and you can see “{N}colleges have looked at your profile” on your dashboard. Names stay private until interest is mutual.
Parental consent for minors
Students under 18 cannot use Campulse without verified parental consent. Verification is handled by Didit (didit.me) using ID check and face-match liveness. We don’t store the government-issued ID itself; we store a tokenized verification record so we can prove consent existed.
What we never do
- Sell student data to anyone.
- Show you ads, push notifications, or social-comparison features designed to maximize engagement.
- Surface students to colleges that haven’t paid for verified institutional access.
Your rights
You can:
- Export your data on request (email matt@campulse.ai).
- Delete your account at any time. Profile data and links are removed; aggregated, anonymized signals may persist.
- Withdraw parental consent at any time, which deactivates the account.
